Real Estate Prices Could Crash as Boomers Move to Retirement Homes

We’ve written a lot in the past about baby boomer retirement issues and the effect the aging population is having on the country on the whole. Now there is some concern amongst real estate experts that the aging baby boomer population could spur another real estate crash. Here’s how it might come to happen. Even though the baby boomer generation has only recently begun easing into retirement age, they will continue to do so at a rate of 10,000 per day over the next two decades. This snowballing effect means that as the years pass more and more of them will move to retirement or nursing home centers instead of staying at home. Aging boomers sell their property.
